Details
Timeline: 6 weeks
Scope: Brand strategy, creative direction, client management
Collaboration: Specialist illustrator for logo design
Deliverables: Brand identity, guidelines, templates

Approach
Montevideo benefited from strategy and creative direction from having a rough idea of what they wanted to discovering a clear path to a brand their loved. To best serve the project we brought in a specialist illustrator for custom logo work – same approach I use now when projects need specific expertise.
Regular milestone reviews kept everyone aligned. No surprises, clear communication throughout.

What Made This Work
Strong collaboration from the start kept the project on track. Regular milestone reviews meant the client was confident at every stage and nothing went off course.
Focus on practical application, not just aesthetics. The brand system wasn’t just beautiful, it was designed to be used immediately across all their touchpoints without ongoing support.
The client became a long-term partner, which is always the goal.

Key Insights
Brand work succeeds when clients are involved at every stage. Regular check-ins prevent projects from going off track and ensure the final system matches their vision.
Strategy before design makes the work stronger. Defining brand personality first meant every design decision had a clear purpose.
The right collaborators elevate the work. Bringing in a specialist illustrator for the logo created better results than trying to do everything myself.
